LAST MEAL

Yukon, Canada, 2010

A grizzly bear in the Fishing Branch River of the northern Yukon fishes for chum salmon in late October. This period of the year is imperative for the health of bears, who rely on fat stores to hibernate during the frigid northern Canadian winters. Luckily, majestic grizzly bears are protected in this region, leaving them with one less thing to worry about.
